Week 4 Day 2 - July 2

Today was enormously frustrating and without success.  Our line follow program spontaneously stopped working.  The robot for some reason could follow the line as long as it was driving to the left, however not to the right.  Hmmm...

We checked the sensors... calibrated the sensors... swapped out the sensors...

We checked the motors, maybe the power levels were not reading correctly?...

We wrote a new program to involve simple 90 degree turns...

We went back to the original Lego line follow program from day 1...

We downloaded multiple versions of line follow programs from different resources including Lego, nxtprograms.com, theroboticist.com, and others...

Sensors and motors are good and functioning, and whether we are turning circles or squares, it does not seem to matter.  The programs are not working for unknown reasons.  Nick, Omar, Myself, and Jessee all troubleshot the programs to no avail.  At this point I am only disappointed in myself for not taking video and documenting the bizarre behaviors with each program.

The newest idea once 5:00 rolled around was that of the "range" function.  If we can get the sensor to give output of a number that falls into a specific range, then act upon that reading, then we may have a more reliable and functional strategy.
